May include neighborhood, park, outdoor, family, friendly, and group outings to new releases. This stems from my pre-FaceBook attempts at a movie night at my place, after full moon fire jams, a dozen friends max. I live close (.8 miles) to the Foster park full moon fire jam spot, and almost always attend if only for the walk/ride/skate/visuals so can be assumed to be near home those nights, and other friends attend as well, and I have a very good home theater environment that sees little group use, and it gives an easy to remember date.
Now I'm decentralizing the concept. My place may rotate in for some post-firejam gathering, but several others are already functioning well and we should simply join in (should this idea be a meetup group?). Other permutations include going mobile (pico-projector and boombox on moon void nights), or group outings to a nice actual theatre, or Brew&View... This idea is especially important, now that the Tuesday oudoor films in Butler park downtown have been discontinued. Chicago "Movies in the Parks" See the 2011 quick reference calendar PDF.
